  • Binance is scheduled to pause all deposit and maintenance activity on July 31, 2025.
  • The reason has been confirmed by us as a special wallet maintenance of 15 minutes.
  • All deposits are expected to resume on August 1.
  • Official information states that trading activity will not be paused for that interval.

Binance, the largest crypto exchange, has shared some information that on July 31, 2025, its exchange will undergo a wallet infrastructure maintenance activity, and this is expected to impact wallet-based withdrawals and deposits. As a result, these services will be paused for the day (July 31). The upgrade is expected to last 15 minutes.

There would be no impact on trading activities. Deposits and withdrawals are expected to resume on August 1.

Wallet-based Deposits and Withdrawals Paused

Wallet-based actions such as deposit and withdrawal activity are expected to be impacted during the maintenance period. A lot of chains these days, like Ethereum, BNB, Avalanche, and Solana, have been integrating smart contracts into user wallets, allowing them to program crypto transfers in advance.

The upgrade period is expected to be 15 minutes as per Binance’s official communication.

We assume Binance is undergoing a transition period where it will upgrade its wallets and exchange to handle programmatic transfers from such smart-contract-based wallets.

Why is this Maintenance Important?

Centralized exchanges often undergo maintenance activity to make themselves secure against internal gaps and loopholes as well as external threats.

Some exchanges even undergo complete wallet changes such as the CEX wallet associated with each user account may be changed. This has happened in the past for multiple exchanges. The reason for such a major change is usually linked to previous hacks, risks of hacks, or to mitigate internal security gaps.

Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that you keep your addresses updated with whoever could send you crypto. We have once lost crypto because a CEX associated with us changed our deposit address, and we did not update the same with our payer.

Dos and Don’ts

It is necessary to take care of certain activities during the maintenance period. Any crypto or fiat sent to Binance accounts or withdrawn from Binance accounts might be lost forever. There is some recovery possibility for fiat transactions. However, if crypto is lost during the maintenance period, it may be a permament loss.

Things You Can Do

  • Use your wallet for trading (spot and futures) on Binance.
  • Use your wallet for P2P activity.
  • Fiat to Fiat conversions.
  • Crypto to Crypto conversions.

Things You Shouldn’t Do

  • Loading fiat via any method i.e., cards, bank transfer or other methods.
  • No crypto withdrawals.
  • No fiat withdrawals.
  • Use Binance CEX Wallet for paying someone outside Binance.

After The Maintenance

Check if your wallet address for Binance is the same as the previous one. If yes, then you need to do nothing. Otherwise, you must update your deposit address with people/platforms that send crypto to your address.

It is always advised to double check your address before you send crypto to it or receive crypto from any external source.
