- Chainlink adds five more chains: ApeChain, Cronos, Cronos zkEVM, Hedera, and Hemi, to its CCIP.
- Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) is now operational on 66 chains.
- Top blockchains include Ethereum, BNB, Shiba Inu, Arbitrum, Solana, and Base.
- Cross-chain operations on CCIP utilize the LINK token as the gas fee.
Chainlink has added five more blockchains to its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), allowing its users access to 66 blockchains. The cross-chain protocol is the largest inter-blockchain asset transfer protocol in the crypto markets.
At present, all these chains are testnets. However, we can expect a mainnet deployment within 2025.
Chainlink had disclosed the news via an official post on its X handle.

Good News for LINK Holders
Chainlink’s CCIP uses the LINK token as a mode of paying gas fees, in addition to the native token of the blockchain from which the transaction originates.
The use of LINK tokens is expected to create additional demand for LINK and, consequently, reduce the circulating supply of LINK. This would then serve to increase LINK’s price.
At the time of writing, LINK was trading at $17.
Impact on Chainlink’s (LINK) Price
Chainlink’s token price has taken a significant decline since January 2025, primarily due to a liquidity crisis and a bearish phase in the Altcoin market. The crypto made a high of $30.81 this year, with the lowest point being $11 for the same period.

A rise in LINK’s price is expected for the remainder of 2025, as these situations are likely to induce non-explosive growth. However, growth critically depends on the US Fed’s interest rate decisions.
However, if any altcoin season arrives, we could see faster growth towards $30.
We expect Chainlink to end this year on a positive note, i.e., above $30.81.
About Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol
Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol by Chainlink is a cross-chain messaging platform used to transfer assets between its participating blockchains. With the latest series of additions, there are 66 blockchains where the protocol is active.
At present, the top 10 blockchains working on the CCIP include:
- Ethereum
- Solana
- Base
- Polygon
- Polygon zkEVM
- BNB
- Shiba Inu
- Arbitrum
- Worldchain
- ZKSync
To send assets from one chain to the other, the user simply has to enter the destination address (public key) into CCIP-supported wallets and sign the transaction.
About Chainlink
Chainlink is one of the largest altcoins in the crypto markets with a market cap of $11.5 billion. The project initially started as a Blockchain Oracle and later entered the cross-chain markets.
It is estimated that Chainlink’s oracle secures around $20 billion across 400 blockchains at present.
Chainlink is also active in the RWA markets, where it is a partner of 21X in its RWA tokenization operations in Europe.
